Collect all files in one folder for each assignment:
This folder contains:
- the final layout: combination of text and image
- all used elements (images and illustrations)
- all used fonts: these fonts will only be used to finalise prepress of your assignment
- Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic,... text should be converted to outlines.
Send the folder digitally or burn it on a CD, and send by courier.
- with E.mail to info@creavit.be as long as the files are not heavier than 2 Mb
- with FTP: visit the design studio/prepress company www.creavit.be; use the link 'FTP', and use following username and password:
user: transport en paswoord: transport
Your files will be sent to a general folder, which is also used by other customers.
If you should wish that your files can only be seen by yourself and by Creavit and Vitra, call us on +32 3 322 32 91.
We will give you a personal username and password. - CD-rom or DVD-R by courier or by mail
All files will be processed on Mac OS X, but files created on a Windows system can also be processed.
Supply us with all necessary information:
In order to process your assignment we need following information:
- name of the printer and the end user
- a final copy to compare with our result:
a) if files are sent digitally: a pdf to check text and positioning.
Use at least version 7 of Adobe Acrobat. Lower Acrobat Reader versions don't have the option 'Overprint Preview',
and may cause differences between pdf and final print result.
b) if you deliver artwork by courier or by mail: please add a colourproof or -print.
Compress the files if they are sent digitally:
- If you compress the files, you can avoid damage during transmission; other advantage is that transmission time will be shorter.
(for example Stuffit: www.alladinsys.com or Winzip: www.winzip.com) - Don't use exotic filenames; avoid caracters like /, *, >, <....
If you should wish to divide filenames, use an underscore (_). - Keep filenames short but simple.
