FLEXOPRINT
Flexographic printing or flexo is frequently used for printing on 'plastic'-film, paper, and other materials used in packaging. Flexography uses flexible printing plates nowadays made of photopolymer materials or 'rubber' like materials. The inked plates with a slightly raised image are rotated on a cylinder that transfers the image to the substrate. The number of photopolymer materials and colours depends on the image to print.
Vitra has flexo presses which can print up to 8 colours. Vitra only works with the best photopolymer plates on our highly innovative printing presses which make it possible to work with HD flexo printing material on foil.
Compared to engraving, the main advantage of flexo is that the pressure bodies can be produced faster and cheaper. Vitra can print in flexo, as well as engraving and therefore in dialogue with the customer, we search for the best and most efficient production technique.
